Breathe in, buckle up, change the M to W (for Wumbo), place your hands on your hips, and you might as well be the greatest super hero alive.
Belts may not give you super powers, but they sure give your outfit that desired boost of looking like you have your life put together or that you're at least trying your best to adult.
Those leather accessories make you stop and think if you really want that pizza to become a personal pizza. They also make you feel less guilty about buying that last pair of trousers even though it was three times your size, because paired with a belt it looks baggy chic, and it gives them that je ne sais quoi allure of not trying to hard... but you secretly are. I'm not talking about the ones your dress already brings. I'm talking about the one you actually searched high and low for. (And probably payed an amount you are not too proud of, but you whispered to yourself: investment piece.)
We tend to under-appreciate the purpose of this accessory, so let's hold hands and stop for a few minutes to admire all that these snake-like suckers do for our style.
Thanks for not letting our pants sag sadly and make our crotch look like the Twilight Zone.
Thanks for reminding us that even though we love layers and layers of oversized fabric covering our bodies, we still have a waist and we should flaunt it.
And last but not least, thank you for having those extra little holes in case we are really determined to make that pizza a personal pizza.
You are the real MVP, belt.
Sincerely, Bianca Nieves.
