Has your skin ever been so sensitive that even the most hypoallergenic and dermatologist approved products irritates it? If your answer is no, then lucky you! If your answer is yes, then I feel you pal, I.FEEL.YOU. Luckily, this DIY Turmeric mask works for any skin type, and up until now it's my favorite go-to beauty mask.
Thanks to my mom's addiction to Pinterest, I discovered through her this wonderful mask that reduces inflammation, redness (rosacea), eczema and even acne due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Plus, when this golden spice is combined with honey and milk it becomes the most gentle and nourishing face treatment. There's also tons of variations to this recipe, but I shall speak from personal experience and preference, and will share the one that plays a vital role in my nightly skin routine.
What you will need:
1 tablespoon of turmeric powder.
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon of milk
1 craft sticks
1. In a medium sized bowl mix all the the ingredients together until you get a consistent paste.
2. Apply to clean and freshly washed face, and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes.
3. Afterwards, wash off with cold water and your choice of face wash.
4. If you have leftovers, you can save it in your fridge for a few days (max. 3)
You may have to wash your face a few times because your skin might still be a bit yellow. But trust me, the mask will most likely stain your nails, rather than your face. That being said, when you are going to apply it make sure you're using clothes you are not attached too. Things can get pretty yellow, pretty quick.
Also, remember to ask your doctor if this will benefit you before actually giving it a try. I may be an extreme case where even though I may be allergic to almost anything you can imagine this works out for me like a charm, so don't take my word for it and look up the necessary information first.
